BUG REPORT: long-term recurring bug

Postby GMClark on Tue Oct 07, 2008 2:22 am

STATUS:

Unresolved.

SCOPE:

This bug affects all aspects of development.

SEVERITY:

CRITICAL!!!!!!

SYMPTOMS:

Lead Developer disappears for weeks to months at a time, resulting in a 100% halt to project progression.

CAUSE:

The cause of this bug can best be described as "Real Life."

RESOLUTION:

While no permanent solution has been identified, an acceptable work-around has proven to successfully pacify this bug from weeks to months at a time. Establishing and making generous contributions to a "Feed Mark and his Mortgage" fund would allow the developer to quit his day job and focus on the important things in life, like finishing this project. This would directly result in a timely release to market, at which point, all future projects should be self-sufficient, possibly even resulting in a permanent fix to the bug itself.

I am working on that bug. It keeps cropping up.

I have been so hammered with a massive learning curve at the new position that I havent even touched the current code in 2 weeks. I am suspecting I'll be atleast another 4 weeks before things simmer down to a dull roar. The job pays stupid silly and is worth doing. And it's with a great company so I am actually very lucky right now heh.

The game engine as it currently sits is.. Pretty good. There are several things I want to implement which are going to be little roadblocks but all in all Im expecting great things. No rush though. I'm not famous for rushing :)

You put the wrong symbol after that... It should read:
"I'm not famous for rushing(TM)"

;)

Well, you know, if there's anything I can do to help move things along, just let me know.
Which reminds me, I was going to see if I could find that Inn I was working on. It's not finished, but I can at least see if I can get some screenshots up so you can see if it'll fit or not.
